Hair Length Guide
Not sure which length to choose? Your perfect length depends on the look you want, your height, hair texture, and where you want the hair to fall on your body.
Understanding Hair Length
Hair extensions and wigs are measured when the hair is fully stretched from the root to the longest point.
Because curly and wavy textures naturally shrink, they may appear shorter than straight hair of the same listed length.
For example, a 24-inch Body Wave wig may visually appear slightly shorter than a 24-inch Straight wig until the hair is stretched.
General Length Reference
12–14 inches: Short, natural look — typically around the shoulders
16–18 inches: Medium length — generally falls around the upper back/chest
20–22 inches: Long — generally falls around the mid-back
24–26 inches: Extra long — generally falls around the lower back
28–30 inches: Dramatic length — generally reaches the waist or below
32–40+ inches: Ultra-long statement hair
These placements are approximate. Hair will fall differently depending on your height, body proportions, texture, and where the wig sits on your head.
Straight vs. Body Wave
Straight Hair typically displays its full length naturally.
Body Wave Hair has a soft wave pattern and may appear slightly shorter because of the bends in the hair.
KLC Tip: If you love a dramatic, flowing look, go longer. If you’re looking for something easier for everyday wear, a medium length may be the perfect choice.
When in doubt, longer hair can always be trimmed but you can’t add those inches back. 💕
